| Announcement: HOW TO GET R1/R2 PROMOTIONS, NEW GUYS READ HERE! |
| Posted: NovaRaine @ Thu Jun 18, 2009 8:30 pm |
Hello all, My name is NovaRaine. I was also known as NovemberRain during my active years in 06'-07'. I am here to tell YOU, how to get into the more elite ranks of risk players. I started this little guide, mostly for tryout procedures.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
please refer to http://r1skempire.17.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=426
It is Color-Crazy's outline of what makes a good risk player.
<<TRYOUTS>>
Ok. For all those r3/r4 grunts please listen up! Shammies (and de-facto shammies like myself) will get tired and tired of constant requests for tryouts. The best way to ask for a tryout is asking when it is convenient to the shammy. This means instead of asking them to play risk with you every game you play, when they don't want to, is NOT good. Don't be excessively persistent about getting into r1/r2, we will start to get annoyed and biased about promoting you. Just play our risk games, and when there happens to be a shammy in the game, ask him to take notice of you in-game. YOU ALMOST DON'T NEED TO ASK. If you are good enough for r1/r2 and you play with a shammy, we will probably take notice! Please do not act like being in r1/r2 is majorly important to being part of this clan. We are here to have fun, and being in r1/r2 does not make you any more well-liked. (C'mon, there are some real assholes in r1/r2 too )
EDIT: The new procedure for r1 tryouts is that you need 3 leaders of any clan (r1-r5) to play with you in a risk game. Notify them you are trying out for r1sk.
R2tryouts: Still need 2 leaders of any clan (r1-r5) to watch you play in a risk game, notify them you are trying out for r2sk.
GETTING BETTER
There are several skill guides on our forums:
Roz's sought-after strategies: http://r1skempire.17.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=61
Roz is arguably the best player in the history of r1sk. This guide is great, but it's a bit long and pretty advanced.
Annex4Risk's Guide: http://r1skempire.17.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=477
Much more basic than Roz's guide. Very beginner friendly.
hey, its my guide!: http://r1skempire.17.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=347
My own list of tips 'n tricks. it is majorly outdated and much of whats in it is either obvious or useless-but-fun.
Either than the skill guides, some of us will try and help out when you play. Please do not get discouraged! All of us were new at this game at one point, and when you are playing in a r1sk game, remember that you are playing with the best players on the USwest B.net server.
Well, I hope you found this post helpful! See you around!
PS this post is found on the Clan R1sk, Clan r2sk, Clan r3sk, and Clan r4sk forum sections.
